Biography
Alejandro Tawil was born in Buenos Aires. In 1985 he moved to New York where he worked for over 20 years in the financial industry. Photography was always an amateur passion that he engaged in at different times in his life.
His interest in African wildlife goes back to his adolescence when he got to spend some time in Southern Africa.
About 10 years ago, he started travelling to sub Saharan Africa with the intention to match his interest in photography with his passion as a conservationist. He’s been actively photographing wildlife in Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. His work have been used to raise awareness and financial support for organizations like the African Wildlife Foundation, the Wildlife Conservation Society, Peace Parks Foundation and Panthera.
He currently lives between New York City and Machangulo, Mozambique.
